Deep in the heart of the Himalayas, there is said to be a
remarkable city that goes by many names - Shangri-La, Utopia, Shambhala,
Gyangunj... Some even believe it to be a
heavenly paradise. However, whether this city truly exists or is simply a myth
remains a mystery.
For ages, many adventurers and explorers have sought out
this elusive city, but few have ever succeeded. Some never returned, while
others who did return were unable to locate Shangri-La. Alexander the Great
himself led an expedition to find the Fountain of Youth, which was rumoured to
be located in this city. According to legend, the Fountain of Youth has the
power to heal any illness and restore youth to those who drink or bathe from
it. A wish-fulfilling tree is also said to be present in Shangri-La, which has
the mystical power to make any dream or imagination come true if imagined or
dreamt in front of this tree.
The mythical creature Yeti is also said to be a resident of this city. It is believed that the people of Shangri-La possess advanced technology beyond our wildest imaginations. They are said to exist in a higher dimension than us, and only those who are spiritually strong enough can find their way to this city. Even then, Shangri-La is rumoured to only reveal itself to those it deems worthy.
Legends suggest that a few selected spiritually powerful people have managed to find Shangri-La. The people of Shangri-La live in a world that is beyond our comprehension, and it remains a mystery whether we will ever uncover the secrets of this mythical city. Saints and Hermits suggest that Shangri-La is hidden near the Mansarovar Lake and Kailash Parvat which is said to be the abode of Lord Shiva presently situated in Tibet. Time doesn't exist in Shangri-La the people who exist in the city are ageless, they stay still at the age at which they have entered this City.
The famous author James Hilton has written a Novel on this
city and a movie also exists based on this novel by the same name "Lost
Horizons".
But Remember! - “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” - William Shakespeare
